The Calais Builds Project will, like migrating birds, be going south on the European migration route this winter.
Conditions there are very bad.
Southern European Refugee settlements range from the informal squats and camps of Greece to the barely tolerated shelters on farmlands around Izmir. We need to help build new winter-proof accommodation in these places, and are planning this right now.
These are unsurprisingly welcoming informal settlements of refugees. With little or no effective official response to help them, our solidarity project is needed more than ever.
Any money we receive will go directly to constructing buildings. We fund our travel and living costs ourselves. Build costs are supplies, components, shipping and equipment used on site. Labour is free.
We thank everyone who has continued to support our efforts.
